Many of us KBK youth volunteers have never really thought very deeply about diapers. But when you do give it some thought, you're left with a lot of questions, like...

Why are diapers so expensive, costing families as much as $80 to $100 per month for just one child?

Does one child really go through more than 5,000 diapers before their 3rd birthday?

Why did it take so long for companies to make eco-friendly diapers?

Why can't federal assistance programs be used to buy diapers?

How can families that are trying to make ends meet afford diapers?

What can we do to help families who need diapers?
So, we started talking to people at nonprofits who help meet the diaper need in our communities, like Michelle Visser at Diaper Circle. We also read articles about how the need for diapers and other baby essentials is greater than ever during the ongoing COVID pandemic. We were surprised to learn that 1 in 3 families experiences diaper need. That's a lot of kids in need of diapers.
Since we're in the "kids backing kids" business, we decided to help cover some bottoms by doing a diaper drive. We'll work with community partners and diaper-based nonprofits to collect as many diapers as we can in one month.
Please join us in our effort to provide diapers to children and families. As you will see below, there are many ways you can help.

Donate diapers, pull-ups, swimmers and baby wipes on our big collection day - May 22nd from 8AM to 3PM at Linden Square. All sizes needed.

Start a mini diaper drive at the office or at school and collect diapers between April 26th and May 20th. Drop them off on our big collection day at Linden Square or let us know and we'll pick them up.

Buy diapers online and ship/deliver to us (Kids Backing Kids, Inc., 73 Longfellow Road, Wellesley, MA 02481).

Donate money through our website and we'll do the shopping for you.
